"the studio"

"the studio"

Mission: Our mission at "the studio" is to provide local practicing and aspiring artists with the time and space to make art through the residency program and organized classes, camps, private lessons, and events through our Artists in Residence Program.

Artist Residence Program Purpose: To offer "rentable" studio work space to community members (and students) who are practicing artists. This will be available to visual artists, vocal performing artists, instrumental performing artists, and thespians. I use quotation marks around the word rentable, because they will pay rent in a non-monetary manner. In lieu of a fee, "renters" will be required to provide services through events put on by "the studio."

“the studio” Artist Levels:
  • Master Artists – Professionally-Trained, Practicing Artists/Artist Responsible for the facility, event, etc.
  • Resident Artists – Practicing Advanced Artists chosen by the “the studio” Project Manager and Master Artists; MUST declare a primary skill focus for study and improvement through residency (has already begun or is in pursuit of professional training). Resident Artists must:
    • Provide at least 2 instructional services (through events organized by “the studio” within a six-week time period.
    • Promote the program initiatives and be a good representation of “the studio” Artists in Residency Program.
    • Participate in Studio Clean-Up Day EACH YEAR!!
  • Emerging Artists – Practicing Artists who are new to the arts OR cannot fully commit to “the studio” project’s Artists in Residency program, but desires some participation in events
  • Art Lovers - Volunteers
  • Aspiring Artists – Student Artists who attend events, activities, courses, and/or camps through “the studio” project
